Description

The next-generation spider design allows the chainring to rotate backward, decoupling the rider from the forces of pedal feedback. The result is a quieter bike with reduced chain turbulence and noise, allowing riders to stay fully focused on the trail ahead. It allows riders to be more confident by unlocking greater stability while braking and cornering, boosting control on rough terrain.
The external travel adjust lets riders fine-tune the degrees of travel—choose between Lock 3°, 6°, 9°, or 12° to match terrain, riding style, and bike setup. And because Ochain is mounted on the crankset, those degrees aren’t multiplied by the gear ratio jumps of wide-range cassettes. No surprises, just consistent performance across trail and enduro bikes, where pedaling efficiency is key.

keyboard_arrow_downDo I have a 3-bolt or 8-bolt crank?
Look at your crank spider where the chainring bolts on. If you see 3 bolt holes arranged in a triangle pattern, you have a 3-bolt direct mount. If you see 8 bolt holes in a circle pattern, you have an 8-bolt. Not sure? Look up your specific crank on the SRAM Service Site.

What chainring do I need?
Ochain R and N has a built-in 3mm offset and works with any 104 BCD chainring (not included). Need a chainring? We've got you: SRAM XX 104 BCD T-Type Chainring

What chainline will I get?
With any 104 BCD chainring and Ochain R / N:
- DUB Wide spindle crankset = 55mm chainline
- Standard DUB spindle crankset = 52mm chainline
- DUB DH spindle crankset = add 3mm spacers and long bolt hardware to achieve 56.5mm DH chainline
Do I need the 3mm spacers?
Only if you're running a DUB DH spindle crank and need 56.5mm chainline. The spacers and long bolt hardware are included with the SRAM XX 104 BCD T-Type Chainring or available separately in the Ochain Chain Bolt Kit.
What travel setting should I run?
Start with 9° for most trail and enduro riding. Dial it back toward 3° or Lock if you want a snappier, more efficient feel on smoother terrain. Go to 12° for chunky, rough DH-style riding where you want maximum feedback reduction.
What's included with Ochain R and N?
Ochain R and N spider and spider-to-crank mounting bolts. Chainring, chainring bolts, and spacer hardware are not included.
How often does it need service?
Elastomer replacement at 100 hours, full service at 200 hours -- same interval as your suspension service. Most home mechanics can handle it.
